Founded by active and retired members of the Public Safety communities, our organization is fueled by a shared vision: to enhance safety and effectiveness for those who selflessly serve our communities. We understand the challenges faced by first responders in the field, and we are committed to encourage solutions that alleviate risk and bolster situational awareness.

Established in 2024

Carbon Media was officially established in 2024. ​We are committed to serving the public good as we work tirelessly to empower and support our first responders with cutting-edge robotics solutions.

Our Mission

Our mission is clear: to empower First Responders, both paid and volunteer, with the information necessary to navigate complex and hazardous situations with safety, confidence, and precision. Whether it's deploying drones, utilizing ground-based robotics, or operating unmanned marine systems, we are dedicated to educating our heroes on the latest technology to save lives and protect communities.

Michael Wall
Title

Michael Wall is a retired firefighter with 22 years of service in the FDNY. As the original member of his Departments robotics program, Michael aided in the initial joint venture with the FAA, and helped lay the foundational elements for the units transition from UAS to robotics.

John Wakie

Title 

John Wakie is an 18 year veteran of the Nations largest Fire Department. His input  within his Departments robotics program not only facilitated the move from tethered UAS to free flight, but also established core safety principles for robotic operations within the complex urban environment.

David Melendez

Title

David Melendez is a Lieutenant with over 25 years of service in the largest Fire Department in the Country, and the chief Officer for his Departments robotics program. In addition, David is the Regimental Commander for the New Jersey Military Academy's 254th Regional Training Institute.
